Women attendees double at this year’s Subha women convention

Over 300 women from Nairobi’s business, diplomatic, corporate, entrepreneurial and social circles converged at a Nairobi hotel on Saturday for the second edition of the Suhba Series: Becoming Her, a curated women’s experience founded by communications strategist and entrepreneur Farida Idris and produced by FID & Co. Dressed in shades of plum and purple, the event brought together women shaping conversations across Kenya. The main objective of the second edition was to create a space where women can move beyond titles, exchange ideas, and build relationships that matter. As keynote speaker, former Cabinet Secretary Amb. Amina Mohamed led the programme alongside Fawzia Ali-Kimanthi, Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, media personality Dr Julie Gichuru, who is also President & CEO of the Africa Leadership and Dialogue Institute (ALADI), and Sumayya Hassan, CEO of Iktifaa Shari’ah-Compliant Investment House. Harriette Chiggai, Presidential Advisor on Women’s Rights in the Executive Office of the President, as Chief Guest, and CHRP Quresha Abdullahi, Executive Director & Council Secretary of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM), as Special Guest.
