On Monday, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition unanimously agreed to drop its old identity and adopt a new name: the Ukombozi Alliance. The strategic overhaul aims to reposition the opposition movement ahead of the 2027 General Election, laying the groundwork for a broader political coalition to challenge the current Kenya Kwanza administration. “After today, even this podium will change because the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has this day, September 21, 2026, unanimously agreed to rebrand and change the name to Ukombozi Alliance,” Kalonzo said.
